Capital Renewables Pty Ltd (ABN 83 701 905 633) respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and disclose personal information, in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. Last updated 10 October 2026.
What we collect
- Your name, address, phone number and email.
- Details of your property and existing appliances, including photos taken during site assessments and installations.
- Information needed for government energy efficiency programs, such as whether you are an owner or tenant, your signature on assignment forms, and your consent to be contacted for verification.
- Payment records for the work we do for you.
- Records of calls, emails and complaints.
We collect this information from you directly: through our website, phone calls, emails, site assessments and the forms you sign. We do not buy contact lists, and we do not cold call or door-knock.
Why we collect it
- to check your eligibility and give you a quote;
- to supply and install your product, and arrange removal of the old appliance;
- to meet the requirements of any energy efficiency program that applies to your upgrade;
- to verify the work with you and handle warranty, service and complaints; and
- to meet our legal, tax and record-keeping obligations.
We will only send you marketing if you have agreed to it, and every marketing message includes a way to unsubscribe.
Who we share it with
- Program regulators, such as the Essential Services Commission, and their auditors, who may contact you to confirm the work was done properly.
- Our licensed subcontractors, only as needed to do your installation.
- Regulators such as the Building and Plumbing Commission and Energy Safe Victoria, where compliance certificates require it.
- Manufacturers, to register and process warranty claims.
- Our service providers, such as cloud storage and accounting providers, who must keep your information secure.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not send your information overseas, except where a cloud service provider stores data outside Australia under appropriate safeguards.
How we store and protect it
- Records are kept in secure cloud storage, in a folder for each job.
- Access is limited by role and protected by individual logins, and is removed when a staff member leaves.
- Data is backed up automatically.
- Program records are kept for at least 7 years, then securely deleted.
Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it. Contact us using the details below. We will respond within 30 days.
Complaints
If you have a concern about how we handled your personal information, contact us first and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) on 1300 363 992 or at oaic.gov.au.
